MFI Melt Flow Indexer QualiFi-2000 Series
MFI Melt Flow Indexer QualiFi-2000 Series, Ā are entry-level, low-cost bench top instruments that measure the melt mass-flow rate (MFR) and melt volume-flow rate (MVR) of a wide range of thermoplastic raw materials (granulate).
QualiFi-2000 Series - MFI Melt Flow Indexer | MFI Tester:
Melt Flow Index Tester QualiFi-2000 Series, available in 2 variations, are entry-level, low-cost bench top instruments that measure the melt mass-flow rate (MFR) and melt volume-flow rate (MVR) of a wide range of thermoplastic raw materials (granulate).
This entry level QualiFi-2000 Series Melt Flow Indexer conforms to all International Melt Flow Resistance standards, including ISO1133, ASTM D1238. Any temperature within 100°C - 450°C  (212 F -842 F) can be accurately controlled.
Using advanced electronic measurement technology, LCD display, and micro-printer (Model AB), the system obtains the melt mass flow rate (MFR) or melt volume flow rate (MVR) (Note: single measurement value and the average value of multiple cuts). The control system can measure and display the temperature value in real-time. It has features such as upper limit temperature protection, constant temperature sound prompt, and response time prompt.
Using advanced PID control technology and a high-speed, high-resolution sampling circuit, the machine features a fast heating rate, high constant temperature precision, and quick restoration of the constant temperature state after filling.
The ASTM D1238 and ISO 1133 standard test Ā methods cover the determination of the rate of extrusion of molten thermoplastic resins using a Melt Flow Indexer also known as extrusion plastometer. After a specified preheating time, resin is extruded through a die with a specified length and orifice diameter under prescribed conditions of temperature, load, and piston position in the barrel.Ā
Method A is used to determine the melt flow rate (MFR) of a thermoplastic material. The units of measure are grams of material/10 minutes (g/10 min). It is based on the measurement of the mass of material that extrudes from the die over a given period of time. It is generally used for materials having melt flow rates that fall between 0.15 and 50 g/10 min.
Method B is an automatically timed measurement used to determine the melt flow rate (MFR) as well as the melt volume rate (MVR) of thermoplastic materials. MFR measurements made with Procedure B are reported in g/10 minutes. MVR measurements are reported in cubic centimetres/ten minutes (cm3/10 min).
Procedure B measurements are based on the determination of the volume of material extruded from the die over a given period of time. The volume is converted to a mass measurement by multiplying the result by the melt density value for the material. Procedure B is generally used with materials having melt flow rates from 0.50 to 1500 g/10 min.
Our MFI Tester, QualiFi-2000A, meets ASTM D1238 Method A for MFR (Melt Flow Rate) testing of thermoplastics.
The MFI Melt Flow Indexer QualiFi-2000AB meets both ASTM D1238 Method A and B for MFR (Melt Flow Rate) and MVR (Melt Volume Rate) testing of thermoplastics.
